“Absolutely our best stay in New Zealand (or anywhere, probably!). Like going to stay with your favorite aunt. We stayed in the house rather than the lodge. It was very comfortable with all the “little touches” like robes, fruit bowl, and chocolates. The bathroom was really lux as well. Great views all around the property. They have a friendly dog, cat, and farm animals. To top it off, Roz cooked up the best breakfasts on our trip! We got to feed the animals in the morning with Roz, and Don really helped us get the most out of the wine country. He pointed out the best tasting rooms for reds, and in a twist of fate was even able to get us into the monthly dinner for his wine aficionado’s group. A great value on top of all that. Run, don’t walk, to this fantastic BnB!” Juniper and Ben Nichols
“Excellent value. Country setting overlooking vineyard but only minutes to town. Very comfortable chalet and friendly atmosphere.” T & Y Bowen
“We were treated like family. Great stay, loved the extras…. dinnner, cookies full private cottage.” John & Carlotta Puckett

“A beautiful location, hosts were extremely helpful and very friendly, all the animals made us welcome and the lodge was very comfortable and well equipped. Highly recommended!!” John and Sue Mikus
“A fab place to stay, the views from the terrace are spectacular and Roslyn and Don are charming hosts. Breakfasts are delicious, really excellent, and if the weather is good you sit outside on the deck gazing at the gorgeous view. Roslyn is an excellent cook, sadly we didn’t eat supper there but we wish we had time to do so. The bed is very comfy, it is quiet and peaceful and the bathroom is nicely appointed and new. We loved it here and would have liked to stay longer!” Pearl and Alec
“This B&B is set in a great location with stunning views. Don and Roslyn were warm and considerate hosts. Don is a treasure trove of information for any wine lover or enthusiast. He has a vast knowledge of all aspects of the wine industry. He assists Roslyn in her fine dinner creations. Breakfasts are also an experience not to be missed! Roslyn introduced us to the pets/animals on the farm to everyone’s delight. We had a great stay here and would recommend this establishment to anyone.” Gregory and Deborah Barkhuizen
“We have stayed many times at the The Grange farm stay over the past 15 or so years. It is a fantastic retreat for couples and families alike. We have enjoyed the many wineries in the area over the years, and now we have children, the focus changes to the joys they get from the farm and the farm-life education from Roslyn! The animals are so friendly and give the kids plenty to do with a whole heap of excitement. A fantastic location, faultless hosts and every time you stay there, you wonder why you left it so long between holidays there! Would highly recommend to anyone and can only sing its praises!” Mackeys
“Very hospitable – couldn’t have been more friendly. We loved the fresh farm eggs the children were able to collect each morning and the home baking and general amenities. A more complete kitchen would be an improvmenet. Children were able to walk around the farm and enjoy the animals. Gorgeous position and views.Accommodation was very comfortable and clean but not ideal for elderly of children, both of which we had. Not ideal having a bed in the lounge. Comfortable for 4, crowded for 6. Very steep and somewhat dangerous ladder to loft and steep stairs to climb up to the accommodation with hilly property hard for walking for more elderly.” Natalie Davies,
“We spent three days at this bed and breakfast with friends. Don and Ros went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was superb, the environment clean and homely. These are lovely people who work very hard to make your stay a great experience. They are not intrusive but concerned that you enjoy their home and Napier. We will return and would recommend this place to anyone who wants to sample New Zealand hospitality” Sallie Renwick
“Ros and Don are terrific hosts; the place is great. You have to try Wishart wine!! Ask for their recommendations for restaurants or Ros is a wonderful cook. Can’t wait to go back.” Teressa Shoreland
“Great food and accommodations! A view down the valley and out to the bay. I have stayed at B&Bs in many countries in the last 30 years and I rate this one in the top 10 B&Bs. Don’t think Victorian. Think Napa Valley. Peaceful and restful family environment. But the absolute best thing about the Grange is the people. Roz always smiling, great conversation and the cooking…well, I’ll lose these couple of pounds. Don, a visionary who is passionate about making wine. Its a pleasure to listen to him talk of his vision. They started the Wishart Winery a few years ago and both their whites and reds have already started hitting the mark. Great food, great wine, and great people. I highly recommend the Grange!!!” Ed Brown
“Wonderful hosts. Combined with the view the animals and the fact they run their own winery, this was one of the best breaks we have ever had.” S Cayley
“A well equipped, sun drenched chalet in a tranquil rural setting within a 10 minute drive of Napier’s CBD… operated by warm & generous hosts. Perfection!” Rowley Beckett
“Don and Roselyn Bird were extremely kind and gracious hosts who made us feel comfortable during our stay in their house, even on Christmas day! The views from their farm are fantastic, the breakfasts were fresh and excellent and the animals (goats, cows,
and pigs) seemed to welcome us as well!! Wehad a great time there! Highly recommended!!” Bill and Tamae Beers
